A partnership between the Cheshire & Warrington Local Skills Improvement Plan and Petty Pool Trust is helping local employers share good practice and explore practical ways to create more inclusive workplaces.
The Cheshire & Warrington Inclusive Employer Network brings employers together to exchange ideas and consider how to create working environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Each meeting focuses on a different aspect of inclusive employment, combining expert speakers, discussions, practical takeaways and opportunities for employers to learn from one another. Topics include disability, LGBTQA+ inclusion, gender, maternity and support for working families.
Learning and Sharing Good Practice
The network’s first session, held in July, focused on disability awareness.
The second meeting, held in September, explored LGBTQA+ inclusion in the workplace. Employers considered allyship and practical approaches to supporting trans and non-binary employees, with contributions from Chester Pride, The Proud Trust and Coliberate.
The network provides a supportive environment in which employers can ask questions, share experiences and identify practical actions for their organisations. It also helps businesses consider how inclusive policies, practices and workplace cultures can support people from different backgrounds.
Next Session: Supporting Families at Work
The next Inclusive Employer Network meeting will take place on Wednesday 25 November 2026 at Chester Zoo.
Focusing on Supporting Families at Work, the session will explore how employers can better support parents, carers and families through inclusive policies, workplace practices and organisational culture.
The session is open to parents, carers, managers, allies and anyone interested in creating more family-friendly workplaces.
