Autism at Work Event – Thursday 28th March 2024, 9 – 10:30am
A session led by Joanna Capewell, Head of Autism at Green Lane Community Special School who discusses how employers can make adjustments in the workplace to best support autistic individuals.
The session will cover strategies and supports for employers from the application process, interviews and the work environment to ensure that the workplace is inclusive, in addition this it will highlight difficulties and anxiety that may be caused by autistic colleagues in the workplace.
You will hear from an autistic man who is currently working as a teaching assistant to hear his experience and challenges. You will also have the opportunity to hear from a Green Lane pupil who will discuss their top tips to an employer to best support them in the workplace.
